This is the final assignment and its about a week late, whoops. Between trying to get to a computer and just flat out forgetting to blog, its not my best. I am currently reading Flags of Our Fathers. Anyway this weeks assignment is to...
1.) Talk about your experiences with this project.
2.) Talk about your future with books.
3.) List your accomplishment... names of the books you've read... total time this week... and the grand total time.
So here is mine...
1.)I really enjoyed this project. i never had time to read before this project and I still don't. This project taught me how to make time, basically by allowing me to read what i wanted to. I also learned a lot from the books I have read. Most teachers have you read things that most likely don't interest you, so students wont typically put in a lot of effort to understand what they are reading. That was defiantly my problem. Finally this project made me make reading for enjoyment a part of my daily routine. It was not hard to adjust, once I finish my homework, I read until i fall asleep with whatever book Im reading in my hands. It doesn't take any extra energy or time from your day and i would always encourage anyone i talk with just to try and read for fun.
2.) I think my future with books will be the same as it is now. I will continue to read at night, and hopefully more as I have the opportunity.
3.) ~ Black Hearts
~ The Forgotten Solider
Weeks Time: 5 HOURS

This weeks assignment was to describe your reading experiences before this project. I am not going to lie, before this project i didn't really make time for reading. I only read what I had to and rarely liked it. I really enjoyed this project, exactly for that reason. I got to read whatever i wanted to and it forced me to make time for it. This week i finished my second book, The Unknown Solider, which consists of 465 pages. This was a very emotional and moving book, and i would suggest it to anyone who has a strong stomach.
This week I read 4 hours.
Total Time: 46 hours and 7 minutes

This weeks assignment was to make two inferences about what the book you are reading.
1.) WIK ~ The Soviet Union was attacked by Germany, when Hitler realized he could not invade England without control of the air, he invaded Russia, and at least 20,000,000 Soviets were killed.
+ WIR on the first day Guy witnesses four men shot in front of him within the first half hour of war, and he will later learn this s a slow rate.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
WII~ This war may have been the worst the world has ever seen. The only war in our country's history that had more casualty's then WW2 was the civil war, but that would be expected when both sides belong to the same country.
2.) WIK~ Everyday common people fought side by side with trained soldiers, everyone was involved.
+ WIR~ Guy a German foot solider grows very close with common farmers who are now fighting with him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
WII~ In this war it didn't matter if you were a farmer, a lawyer, or a regular trained solider, you both worked together and just tried to pull through.

This week assignment was to answer the question of whether or not the book you are currently reading lived up to your expectations. My answer to this question is yes. The book the forgotten solider is pretty close to what i expected, what i didn't expect from this book was the details of gory war scenes. Since this book has more of a story than all hard facts i didn't expect it; however it is still a very moving and informational book.
The next assignment is to give a brief summary of the story you are reading, here is mine.
Guy Sajers, is German foot solider and the main character of this book. The story is told through his eyes and tells the struggles and victories of his experience on the field.

The assignment this week is to describe the antagonist of the book you are reading. The book I am now reading is called the Forgotten Solider. This book mainly focuses on a young solider and his journey through basic traing. This is really his first exspirence in the real world, and with war. The antagonist is not metioned in much detail, so far, but i think its safe to to say that the antagonist is the enemy of war, which in this case are the Russians. The Russians are not only the enemy, but also mystery that has peaked the curiosity of this young innocent solider, due to the fact that his own officers will not share their knowledge of the Russians with him.

Week Seven Twist
In the book Black Hearts, there is never a dull moment. Being that this book is a non fiction, it was not purposely written with a suspenseful plot, but I think there are already many twists in this book.
The assignment for this week was to add a twist to the story, or add to something more to the story to make it more interesting. The only thing i could think of adding to make the story more interesting would be to include a comparison of the war described in this book and earlier wars. For instance comparing weapons, war tactics, and machinery.
I finished the book, and am a little more than half way done with the next one, which is called the forgotten solider. I read a total of seven hours this week.
Total time read: 24 hours and 20 minutes

How far is to far? This is a common question that may go across some people when they hear what is going on over seas, with our troops. In 2005 the Yusufiyah people were seeing more and more Americans who were supposedly there to help and protect the Innocent everyday civilians, but they felt no relief. The local didn't feel protected, but instead persecuted. Do these people have the right to feel this way when soldiers are there to help? Well typically the American soldiers would come in to a house without warning, and search through the entire house. This would be an intimidating and scary situation for anyone. These soldiers are not evil men or women, but instead people who are just tiring to do their job in the best way and the safest way for the most people. These Americans have the toughest job especially when it comes to the question of how far is to far. Some might say that when you know longer see the enemy as people, this is can be a very difficult thing to overcome. While still others may argue that if you worry about the enemy so much, there is no way you will stay sane. All in all the everyday duties in the life of a solider is beyond most everyday peoples understanding, as a result all citizens are reminded to respect the soldiers and the veterans who have or are fighting for us.

This weeks assignment is to list the top five resons why you would or would not be friends with the author or main character of the book that you are reading. I would be friends with the author of my book, and these are the five reasons why....
1.) The author was in the army and he would keep me safe when I'm with him.
2.) He is very strong and I would not want to be his enemy.
3.) He is a very knowledgable person and i could learn alot from him.
4.) He is not a person who goofs off all the time, but instead is very serious about his work.
5.)He has made many sacrifices for all Americans and our country, and it would be an honor to call myself his friend.
This week I have read three hours and ten minutes.
Total time: 13 hours and 55 minutes

This weeks assignment is to create a sound track for the book you are reading. The videos below contain the four songs I've chosen for this project. These songs represent my book well because there are many mixtures of emotion. One video shows the pride, commitment, and tough pursue of a solider, and the other three show the feelings and hardships of these brave men and women, and what they go through everyday.

Three thinking questions
This weeks assignment is to right three thinking questions and answer them. These are the three I did.
- When reading a book that contains many different war scenes, such as Black Hearts, how does it influence your thoughts or knowledge of war?
From what I have read so far, these book changes my whole outlook on war. Today's war is far
more complex than any history book, movie, or news article ever describes.
2. While reading this book are you still able to see any value in sending our brave family members friends, and neighbors, also know as soldiers to a war like this one?
Yes, even after reading about these events, the is still a value to sending our brave men and women overseas. There are the obvious ones such as, fighting for all sorts of freedoms, speech, religion, press,.... Without these freedoms we wouldn't be America land of the free, we would just be America.
3. After reading part of this book, what do you think would give anyone the drive to enlist for the military?
I think they will always be people willing to give their service , and their life for their country. To be a part of the United States army is a huge honor, and to be able to stand literally between the enemy and your family as part of the country's first defense is an incredible privilege. God has our time and place set for when it is our turn to leave this world and go to heaven, so if the fear of death would keep a person from serving their country in this way, well they have no control over it anyway. I think these are just a few of the reasons that many people have the drive to enlist and serve in the U.S. military. I know these are a few of the reasons I have the drive to enlist and serve my country, my family, and most importantly my Lord, by putting my trust in him and hopefully leading others to do the same.
I read two hours this week.
Total time 8 hours and 15 minutes

The Cover of the Black Hearts
The book I am currently reading is called Black Hearts. The cover of this book is very simple. It has a black background and a slightly faded flag, the title, and that's it. Though the cover may seem boring, it holds a lot of meaning, and represents what I have read so far very well. This book is very visual, when describing war scenes. These scenes are very disturbing and gross beyond imagination, and the worst part is its true! This book is helping me view war differently, and I have learned so far that it is not even close to how movies portray it. Even though the cover does not show any of these war scenes, it shows the most important part, the reason. The reason why we would ever even consider sending our brave soldiers to places like this. This reason is represented by the flag. The flag represents our country, our freedoms, and all Americans.

My Goals
My goals for this project is to get an A, and read more than the average ang, lol. I hope to read for at least an hour every night. The books that I will most likely read the most are books about the U.S military or books on murder investigations.
